Here is a beginning to the resources for fun and entertainment in Vietnam. Great Restaurants
Vietnamese and Western some five star some just good cheap eats!

Quan An Ngon - Very funky outdoor/indoor restaurant offers an incredible variety of all sorts of Vietnamese specialties - It's a good place for Westerners to get acquainted with the local cuisine - and it's CHEAP! (Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street)

The Mandarin Restaurant - Much more elegant but also offers Vietnamese specialty cuisine - the atmosphere is Asia-chic and the wine cellar is very good. Pricier but swish! (11A Ngo Van Nam Street)

Temple Club - Authentic Indochinese atmosphere, excellent food, nice bar with cool jazz, golfers favorite, (29-31 Ton That Thiep D1)

Java - Hip coffee house and restaurant, (38 Dong Du D1)

Chez Guido - the "Take Out-Delivery" King of Saigon, reliable, international food, No need for Domino's, delivers all over town

Camargue - Although the French cuisine here is wonderful, it's the setting that makes this restaurant a must. An outdoor upstairs patio gives you a chance to take advantage of HCMC's balmy evenings. After your meal, play a game of pool in the bar area, or walk downstairs to Vasco's--one of the coolest nightspots in the city. (16 Cao Ba Quat Street)

Vascos - downstairs from the very elegant Camargue, this is a relaxed hang-out for the expat and Viet Keiu community. Live music on Fridays - pool all the time. (16 Cao Ba Quat Street)

Saigon Saigon Bar - The legendary Saigon Saigon Bar on the roof of the Caravelle Hotel boasts an illustrious history. During the war, news men watched and covered the fall of Saigon from it's balconies. (Lam Son Square)

Apocalypse Now - disco-meets Beer Garden. This is where the foreigners and the locals sweat it out on the dance floor. (Thi Sach Street)

Space Ship - You don't order drinks here... the patrons buy Martell by the bottle! This club has cutting edge decor - complete with descending giant spaceship! The music is viet-pop and upbeat. (Ton Duc Tang Street)

The Q Bar - notorious and open again after a long siesta. This beautifully decorated bar is snugly nestled beneath the old Saigon Opera House. (Lam Son Square)

Heart of Darkness - Saigon's version of the infamous Phnom Penh club/bar. Thousands of tracks on a computer based MP3 system and any shot you want for a buck and a quarter.
